America Recycles Day

Help us celebrate America Recycles Day on Tuesday, November 15, 2016

One day to educate. One day to motivate. One day to make recycling bigger and better 365 days a year. Get involved! This Fall, take the #BeRecycled pledge!

What can you do for this year’s America Recycles Day? Thousands of events are taking place all over the country. You can be a part of the movement. Register to organize an event in your town, take the pledge online, attend an event or learn more about being a better recycler. Promote recycling in your community by committing to reduce, reuse, recycle, and buy recycled!

[As of today, 67,498 people have signed the pledge! The national recycling rate has increased over the past 30 years. The current recycling rate is 34%.]

For America Recycles Day 2016, we encourage you to take the pledge to:

  • Learn – Find out what materials are collected for recycling in the community
  • Act – Reduce the amount of waste produced, recycle more and buy products made with recycled content.
  • Share – Encourage one family member or friend to take the #BeRecycled pledge.

Recycling is a small, but highly significant part of our daily lives. We don’t realize the impact that recycling has on our economy or environment. There are many items that can be recycled that many of us throw into the trash.

It’s important to know the items to recycle and where. You can find a list of places in an interactive “Recycling Locator” map on the americanrecyclesday.org website. It will guide you to places based on the item you select. Just enter your zip code. Everything from plastic bags, bottles, clothing, cameras, to computers to refrigerators, you can find the right spot to take your recyclable items.

And of course, to recycle scrap metal, electronics and batteries, bring them to TT&E! We do our part to make an impact. Join us in recycling more. Every week, we sell millions of pounds of recycled metal directly to end users of recycled metal to make into new products thus reducing the amount of waste in landfills or metals that would have to be mined. For over 40 years, our family owned and operated scrap metal recycling company has strived to keep our environment clean and encourage recycling as a way to preserve our precious natural resources. Get more information about recycling scrap metal at TT&E >>

Be a part of the change. Be a part of the movement. #BeRecycled
